The Vincent van Gogh Atlas Details

Review "This is the perfect gift for the precocious 'tween who wants to be an artist or the reader of any age who enjoys clever, well-made books. Tis one has the bonus of offering geography and history lessons, a travelogue, a biography, a tutorial on the forices that make an artist and visual documentation from Van Gogh's own hand. The handsome hardbound volume has the playful feel of a Tin Tin comic but the heft of a volume befitting the Yale University Press imprint."--Alan Bisbort, Waterbury Republican--Alan Bisbort "Waterbury Republican " Read more Book Description This imaginatively designed guide to Van Gogh's itinerant life presents his fascinating story to all ages, with vibrant images and accessible information on the many places where the artist lived and worked. Reviews

This book doesn’t go into obsessive detail about Van Gogh’s life. Rather, it charts his path—from childhood until death—focusing on where he lived and what issues he was dealing with at those points in his life. Samples of his works—and those of others—are included along the way. For someone who is unfamiliar with Van Gogh, this is a great introduction. Even for the more informed reader, you will learn new things along the way. The text is easy to read and the photogrsphs are excellent. I highly recommend this book.
